Writing lead and Features lead

Hello readers welcome to my blog...

Here I'm going to  talk about the  writing lead and features lead.so let's discuss about it.

Introduction

There are some kinda of writing, some related with education and some are related with work, filed and news as well. So in news or in a journalism there are some writing and some  feature for that,

Lead writing

Feature writing

So let's discuss about these both here.

Feature writing

Lead writing

Feature writing

A journalist who not only can report facts but can transmit the mood and tone of an event who can impress upon the readers the significance of what happens. facts for authority mood and tone for sympathy Interpretation for lucidity qualities of a good feature writer

 Inquisitive

 Eager to learn

Sympathetic towards other people's    feeling

There are some types of feature writing like;

  1. News feature
  2. Profiles
  3. Spont features
  4. Lives -in

Here is video for Feature writing...

Lead writing

What is  meaning of it...?

A lead is an opening paragraph that gives the audience the most important information of the news story in a concise and clear manner, while still maintaining the readers' interest.

Here we are  talking about the  news so there are some  questions asking system to  get  information, that is obviously in journalist's  work.

Who? What? Where? When? Why?

Short, Sharp Summary of things, readers are curious to read. Other parts like hard and soft lead.

Hard Lead gives a comprehensive view of entire event, while soft lead gives a short account of that event with catchy title.s a short account of that event with catchy title.

Conclusion

Writing is not just only to  write anything anyhow but, writer have to  write with structure, qualitative words and with a unique way so people will  attract to  read it. So here  as above we can discuss about the  feature writing and Lead writing.

Thank you  ....

 Hello readers

Here I'm putting one task on multimedia call Matirial. In this  task , I made one module to  teach  student  English language through the  video clip (both languages English and Hindi).

Here is one power point presentation. Through that we have to  do  that task.

In the  world of technology we can  use it in Education. I have a prepared one Presentations and through that we can give task and activity to  students,So they can learn and  try to learn such a topic and also  they can do it with a new ways.

There are  some  characteristics of the teacher and also of learner. This presentation is the side from teacher. If they  both cop with each other , the learning process can be  interesting and we got  the learning outcome as well.

To make this PPT I used

History of Call

 Hello...

    Introduction

Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL) is often perceived, somewhat narrowly, as an approach to language teaching and learning in which the computer is used as an aid to the presentation, reinforcement and assessment of material to be learned, usually including a substantial interactive element. Levy (1997:1) defines CALL more succinctly and more broadly as "the search for and study of applications of the computer in language teaching and learning". Levy's definition is in line with the view held by the majority of modern CALL practitioners.

About Call

It is considered  that CALL was first used by Davies  and Steel (1981) in a conference paper, and the term was widespread in the UK a year later, in 1982.

This same year, Ealing College of Higher Education published  the  CALL-related  newsletter  titled  “CALLBOARD”.  Furthermore, in  1983,  TESOL  started up CALL Special Interest Group  which was a big move in the field.

Then even  the exact date of the appearance of CALL term is not completely clear  different terms are appeared in the literature of applications of technology in pedagogy. Computer-Aided Instruction  refers to learning at the computer in which there is no necessity in language education, also, the word ‘instruction’ refers to a teacher-centered approach.  Computer-Assisted Learning    is  similar  to  CAI,  but  the  focus  in  on  learners.

Computer-Assisted  Language  Instruction was incorporated into the name of the professional association Computer-Assisted Language Instructed Consortium. In contrast to CAI and CALI, the emphasis of  Computer-Assisted Language Learning  is on learning rather than instruction, therefore, it is reflecting a student-centered approach rather than a teacher-centered  one.

History of Call

T he USA was the pioneer country in early days of CALL. In 1950s, the prominence of teaching language for military purposes in competent and scientific ways led to the application of huge and high-priced mainframes,  as the first application  of computers  in language learning  being available at universities.  In competition  with USSR in Cold  War  (1945-1991), the first CALL programs  were developed at Stanford University, Dartmouth University and the University of Essex in order to teach Russian as a foreign language . Among the early mainframe-based programs, which were served as tutor and drillmaster, the PLATO (Hart, 1995) and  TICCIT projects (Anderson, 1976; Jones, 1995) were the highest profile ones.

Computer-Assisted  Language  Teaching    is  another  term  which  in  contrast  to CAL emphasizes the teachers.  Computer-Assisted Teaching is learning any subject at the computer.

Computer-Based Training  refers to a program used for teaching of some discrete language learning skills.

Computer-Mediated  Instruction is the application of some form of computer software or hardware in instruction in which learning takes place when a learner communicate with a distant tutor.

Mall

Full form of Mall is, Mobile-assisted language learning  is language learning that is assisted or enhanced through the use of a handheld mobile device.

MALL has evolved to support students’ language learning with the increased use of mobile technologies such as mobile phones, MP3 and MP4 players, PDAs and devices such as the iPhone or iPad. With MALL, students are able to access language learning materials and to communicate with their teachers and peers at any time, anywhere.

Through the mobile phone we can learn the  English or other languages as well. There are so many web tools through which we can teach and learn English language.

I also used  some  app to  learn it. Some  course help us for that like,Mooc,Coursera and other also. Some  social media and website also help for that.

Conclusion

There so many invention in this world to teach and learn. Through that we can make  education effective and  easy also. So Call and Mall both  are the helping tools we can say.

Web 2.0

Hello viewers welcome to my blog...

 Introduction

21st century is century of technology ,that we know very well. Now when are going to talk about  technology and educational we used many tools for that. Web 2.0 is one of part of technology. So Whatʼs Web 2.0 ?

This document is intended as simple introduction to some free Web 2.0 type tools that can be used by teachers who are interested in using technology in language teaching. The tools presented here are just the tip of the iceberg and this should not be considered in anyway conclusive or even the ʻbest ofʼ Web 2.0 tools. New tools are emerging all the time, many not originally intended for education, but which can be put to good use by students and teachers alike to extent opportunities, enhance learning potential and develop the level of digital literacy that students will need for the 21st century.

So here some explanation about the web 2.0.

• Text based ʻhtmlʼ with some images - The early web was largely driven by text based content formated with a simple programming language called ʻhtmlʼ.

• Broadcast medium - Most web sites were owned or controlled by companies or individuals with web skills. The content was added by web masters and the owner of the website decided what would go on the website. This was a ʻtop downʼ process, readers had no choice and little input into the content that went on the
site.

• Slow connection speeds - Most visitors were using slow dial up connections which made downloading large files such as video or audio incredibly slow.

• Limited interactivity - If there was any interactivity on websites it was almost completely text based and usually took the form of sending in an email, basic text chat or posting a message on a text based bulletin board.

• Expensive software - Most creative work being done on computers was done using expensive software which was complex to learn and had to be bought on discs and installed on the hard drive.

summary of Thoughts of Speakers

Hello everyone,

Here is blog on various videos. These videos are related with Education and technology. Nowadays  we used technology for teaching and as well as for learning. So let's see  some  thoughts by speakers in those video. You  can also  watch  that all videos here in same blog. For more information click here.

Introduction

In this video Ken Robinson talking about the Education with change in Economy and culture. He gave many Examples from queen to  present time. That  how changes are coming in Education because of technology.

In this Sugata Mitra talks on paradigm shift that he wants in education system. He also pointed out Victorian education system and how paradigm shift helps with the School in the Cloud enables students to think critically, the most important ability of students which must be demanded for future job. He started his project with 'The Hole in the Wall' and talks on how a children started to operate it through self learning. Through this he emphasizes his idea of,

SOLE - Self Organized Learning Environments.

Along with it he also talks on pronunciation and how through the speech to text engine software one can enhance pronunciation. Indeed how can we forget about examination threat? He also mentioned about it. He firmly believed that in order to instill the best in the student, collaborate work should be encouraged in classroom as well as exam must be  focused on problem solving dimension through internet rather than traditional memory checking oriented examination. In this entire process of new learning the question of "Why" becomes more important than the "what".

In both video Sugata Mitra talking about the education system. He did so many experimens  with Hall in a wall. Experiment in Delhi, in England, in China and In south India (Kuppam-Haidrabad).

This picture is about the  old education system. According him  the through the technology and  inernet  children can learn their own.

Here is a girl who is sleeping in a class  because she is tried with  the thinking or study. But  the  collaboration learning, group learning gives them opportunities.they discuss and then  tel to  teacher. So Question and answer happened.

In this video  Salman Khan  giving his view on the use of  technology also that  how  he got the idea of online class and you tube video. In khan academy  learner can learn mostly everything like maths and chart, economy and others subject through the course.

He explained also all things with showing demo presenting video.

In this particular video he talks about digital tools widely used by younger generation of 20th century. He gave a certain figures regarding the amount of the time spent by students in using digital tools. Surrounded by technology and video games, today's grads have spent less than 5,000 hours of their lives reading but over 10,000 hours playing video games. It showcases growing interest towards technology. Because of the remarkable use of technology in education as well for other purposes, we become the native of technology while digital immigrants do not believe that students can learn by watching T.V or listening music. Indeed, they are preferably wrong because in this pop culture, along with designed educational course, each and every instrument of pop culture can be served as a new mode of education and it can not be denied.

Invention of telephone was disaster for people. In 1920 paper for that it is a medium of brainwash and They thought that is new invention of telephone is a disaster.

He says that after those invention internet is invention of new generation.

Now we can see that during the use of social media while texting people used short form of some words so that way English language changed.

Ex -:  LOL, U(you), R (are)

He said that language is changing now and then. So it is big challenge for teacher to teach student. So they face difficulty with language. There is two reasons according to  him that

1)  Internet

2) Global language (English)

In this video David is talking about the  Texting is good for English Language

There are judges and they all are asking him questions. David put  his argument or can say  answer for his survey or reserch.

Conclusion

As above all videos are very interesting. It is all about the  language and linguistic. David Crystal gave Mani views on Effect of English language and effect on English language in current time. They argued well to  prove their   point, In all videos.

ELT 2 : Technology and Education

 Hello viewers,

Welcome to my blog....

Today  I'm going to discuss about Technology and Education. It is very  interesting topic for discussion and to  know about  this, they  are  related with  each other and how  different.

Introduction

I don't think that  we have to  discuss on what is technology ? We know about it and also advantages and disadvantages of technology.

Nowadays  technology is becoming so much  advance.  It is useful  in teaching and learning also. For education it is like a boon. So teacher  can easily  teach through the use of it. It make  learning easy and also an interesting. Specially we saw  benefit of technology during this pandemic time and lock down. How technology helps us. Because of it works were not stop and mostly things were being  continued.

After  all that we have  question  that ,If we used  technology in education then  it can be replaced teacher or not?

Let's see  some characteristics of technology .

1. Speed

2. Perfection

3. Update

4. Time and space

As we know that  technology is giving us these benefits. That we can do our work with speed and mostly the work by technology is 99.99% is perfect.

Now  sometime it is not easy for  human to be update with time. But  technology is getting update now and then. Most  important thig is we can use it anytime and anyplace if we have enough tools. So we can be work without any problems.

Well....These all are useful for  education as well. But  then what about teacher ?

Into the  quiz  there is a one blog link and video. In that video by Dr. Dilip Barad sir  he included two  as videos and one from satyamev jayte programme. Below  I put both  as videos so reader can watch it here.

In this  idea company's ad  we can see how  technology is become helpful to teach those who can not get admission in school of many reasons. Through the  good network students can be able to  learn and development their self. Teacher are teaching them from far distance and they are able to learn their rural areas. So yes this way technology can be helpful.

In present time we see that  small kid also know how to search things and scroll the skin and all the  technology learning things. That  we can see in above video. He is got salvation own his on and go live through using technology. It all about to learn from mother's womb. May be so... But  as venadatu said its as that

"समज आएगा तो मजा आएगा

मजा आएगा तो समज आएगा"

Through the technology we can stop corruption. That  we can see in video the person named sanjay he learn how to use computer and internet. He found something wrong and about  the corruption. The people of villages raise their voice for justice. He also made one website to give msg named  आवाज दे.

But  now we have in era of technology. So in education  we have many questions.

    Can Technology  replace teacher?

No I don't think so because, first thing is technology get update because of human mind. Second thing is that  we have to  connect all  dots and content so students can understand it. Third is that ,people  take time  to  understand it and also take time to  learn it. So someway  it will  spoil time or if they will  not be able to do that they will  misuse it.

1. Teacher  can discuss and  communicate with teacher.so it can be critical.

2. They  have to  connect the  dots for easy  understanding

3. Some  topic like  poem or other  need emotion so teacher can connect that things with  particular topic but  not  technology.

4.If there is no technology then  even they have to work creatively with  interesting  way.

During this corona pandemic time, Technology is being very useful. But  when we talk about as  general persepective,we know that everyone is not know how to use it and study through it. Then they misuse the data.According to me people stared learning technology and understand important of it.Yes, they have to understand that technology is for our benefit not for  misuse.

Technology can make it easy to get educated by sitting at home but that education too is provided by a teacher. Even in online courses, we see that teachers are necessary to give lectures, whether in the form of videos, tutorials, Skype sessions, etc. Children still need to learn computers to operate those online sessions, which of course are taught by teachers.

Technology can certainly help teachers to reach out to more students & reduce physical strain & save time for both of them, but there is no way technology can replace teachers at anytime.

Conclusion

As above  that  technology can be take place in education but not can replace teacher. Because  technology Will some way  not able to give the understanding of such topic and can be able to do connect the dots with meaningfully.

Thank you
