           Karnad was born Mathern, Maharashtra.His mother  named Krishnabai and father named Raghunath. He took primary education in Sirki Karnatka. He earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Dharvad ,Karnatka  in 1958,after that he went  to  England and studied Political science ,Economics and Philosophy .From Oxford University he got his Master of Arts degree in these subjects .

                After working with the Oxford University press for 7 years and resigned for writing. Karnad influenced by Renaissance in western literature. when Karnad was child he wanted to be poet like TS Eliot but he never thought about to be writer.In 1961 Yayati was published that time Karnad was 23 years old. After that in 1964 he published Tughlaq.In this we can find the historical element is political allegory on the nehruvian era Karnad hayavadana published in in 1971 nagamandala was published in 1988.

           Karnad started his career has writer but he was not only cat but also actor screenwriter writer play writer dramatist he debut in Kannada movie Sanskar this movie won the president's gold in lotus award can you work in Nishanth Swami Tiger series Manthan also Shivay Sasha so on. He got best director award collaboration with week current for Vansh books in 1971
         Karnad was famous for his work as well as he was also often came into controversy. Karnatak occupied the space into  political news also when he started complaining for  Bengluru that time he said that "the wing did not have the intellectual calibre of the left".
      Even he was in a controversy for many reasons like Bangluru International Airport could be changed the name on Tipu Sultan and people become furious upon karnad's  and fire his statue also, then also he was in a controversy about when he took part in a protest against the beef ban in Maharashtra in April 2015,click here then he  also talked about Tagore that Gurudev please where unbearable and he was not a good play writer according his perspective.
